MINTED PEAR AND KALE SMOOTHIE

Mint by default is refreshing, so this smoothie takes hydration to new levels combining greens, citrus and coconut water. The addition of lemon juice not only adds a delicious zingy flavour, but also aids in digestion through physically stimulating the production of stomach acid, making it especially good for people with digestive issues. Banana and coconut water provide essential electrolytes, aiding in muscular relaxation, cardiac function and rehydration. The latter is especially important if you have this smoothie for breakfast as it it’s pretty likely you haven’t drunk anything for eight or so hours!

Ingredients

1 banana, peeled, cut and frozen

1 fresh pear, seeded and quartered

2 cups Organic Coconut Water

2 large kale leaves, stems removed

1 handful fresh mint

juice of 1 lemon

Method

Add all ingredients to a blender and process until ultra smooth and creamy. Serve immediately.
